Prayer Cycles
The reason why we have prayer cycles is so that we remember to pray for everyone on a regular basis. The Anglican Communion Prayer Cycle reminds us that we are part of something bigger than us. There is something special to see that around the world on a given day we are praying with heart and mind for common people and places, and in due course we too are remembered. Obviously this does not mean that we do not pray for particular parts of the Church when we are aware of particular needs, however the rhythm of the cycle collects us all together expressing our unity and our family.
The Diocesan Prayer Diary for our Diocese (Ballarat) fulfils the same function for our Anglican Family closer to home.
