As of the 1st September the pathway from the lych gate past the Garden of Remembrance will be closed to traffic.  Not only will this keep this area for people to move freely and safely in and out of church and to visit the garden, it will reduce costly damage to the underground service supplies which run beneath this path.  Thankyou for your understanding.

Dunkeld News  Their organist Lorna Bowker was presented with flowers last Sunday thanking her for playing the organ for them for over 30 years.  Well done Lorna.

NOTICE BOARD.

Pleasant Sunday Afternoon.  Hamilton Bible Society is having an afternoon on August 23rd at 2.30pm.  This will be at St Andrew’s Presbyterian church and funds raised will be used to help the Bible Society provide the Word of God to four South Asian countries, which is the major appeal of 2009.  Jan Pederson will be speaking of the work done there and local artists will entertain.

There are booklets available at each church to read before the afternoon if you are interested.  “Sower” and “The Great Race” (for children).

A BIG THANKYOU to those people who brought the food,  the ladies who prepared and plated everything up so nicely and anyone who helped in any way for the M.S.O.

A good pair of gloves were left at Christ Church last Sunday.  Please take them to the Parish Office if you found them.

Anglican Church Ladies are hosting Inter-Church Ladies’ Social Afternoon on Monday 10th August at 1.30 pm. in the Canon Julien Centre.  Guest Speaker Mrs Joan Grace from Francis Foundation Warrnambool.  Proceeds from the afternoon to go to Francis Foundation.  Goods for trading table (priced please) and  small plate of afternoon tea.  Always an enjoyable afternoon.  Please come along.  Enquiries Roma Keating 5571 2102

Trading Table and Raffle will be held on Saturday 15th August after the church service at 6pm at the back of the Christ Church and Sunday morning 16th August after the 9am service in the church hall.  Donation of jams, produce, cakes or anything else will be gratefully received.  Monies will go to the Sunday School and the Toy Library.  For pickup of any goods please contact Glenys Aisbett (after hours) 5572 3416.  I will also be holding a raffle for a toaster, which has kindly been donated by Dorothy Ryan.  Tickets will be in the church hall at a cost of $1.00.  Yours in Christ, Glenys Ai\sbett.

Mothers’ Union  meeting on Monday 10th August will start with a Eucharist at 7pm then onto Alexandra House.  Fees of $25 now due.  Please put in envelope and give to Linley Bramall.

Ladies of the Church Congregation

Help is needed for catering on Wednesday 12th August for the M.S.O.  Dainty savouries (served cold), slices and small cakes are required.  Preparation will be held at the church hall at 1.30 pm  to plate up food and cut ribbon and points sandwiches.  Your help would be much appreciated.                   Rachel Malseed
