The 1st Tea Dance will be held on Friday 4th June from 2pm to 4pm.  An afternoon of dancing and social interaction.  Please come and enjoy the music and afternoon tea.

 Tentative date for the Mini Morning Market is 25th September, so pot your plants and think about what other activities we can provide.

 The card shop at the rear of the church has been restocked, please select cards and put money in the box provided

 Thank you to all those in our churches who have helped with the singing, serving, decorating and reading over the last few days. 

 To the Olivers for making all our palm crosses.

 For those who have made our wonderful banners of the seven sacraments which are now hanging in Christ Church.

 For those who have provided a wonderful luncheon today.

 For all those who have slaved away in the office unseen (where do you think all these wonderful books come from)

 To those who have spent the week visiting the housebound and hospital bound.

Book Fair  A total of $17,510 was raised which is overwhelming and our sincere thanks must go to everyone who participated to make this an outstanding success.  It was amazing how many books were donated and the number of people who volunteered to man the shop – both from the parish and outside.  Thank you one and all.

The funds will be distributed shortly to Haiti Disaster Relief, Fistula—Addis Abbiba, Francis Foundation in Warrnambool and Medical Research in Cambodia.  A presentation to Dr Mark Johnson for his work in Cambodia to take place at our Mothers’ Union meeting on Wednesday 28th April.  All welcome.

 Attention all trivia buffs (quiz night) – Mistress Mason will be opening her trivia classroom for lessons on Friday 21st May.  Class sizes will be 10 pupils and fees will be $10 per head.  More details later, but if you would like to book early please see Mistress Mason or one of her assistants from the Fundraising Team.

 Guild News:  A reminder that the Guild Diocesan Conference this year will be held on April 12th, starting with Eucharist at St John’s church, Soldiers Hill, Ballarat at 10am.  A car will be leaving the church car park at 7.30am.  Please let Rachel know if you would like a lift.

Nominations for Diocesan Synod Representatives or Reserves are now called for. Those interested or wishing to be nominated and (seconded) please let Fr Richard know by Sunday 11th April.  Any further election will take place on the 18th April.

Chrism Mass: This year the Chrism Mass on Monday 29th March is being organised by Fr Richard and Fr René. They would appreciate your support!  Flyers explaining the importance of the day are available at the back of the church.  There is one car going from Hamilton.  If you would like to go and need a ride or if you would be willing to take people in your own car please let Fr Richard and Fr Rene know.

As part of your Lenten discipline, please consider confession!  Confessions will be heard this week on Wednesday  in the Lady Chapel from 4-5pm.

Stations of the Cross will be held each Sunday Night during Lent at 5pm. We will share this popular Lenten devotion with our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters. This week at St Mary’s.

 News from Parish Council  Geoff Ryan—Community Development Manager of Victoria in the Dioceses of Ballarat for Anglicare, spoke to Parish Council members and representatives from our various committees about the work he does.  It was agreed to arrange for Geoff to come to our Parish next year to investigate what needs in the community we can be involved in.  Geoff works with local councils, schools, police and other groups to find where needs in communities are most needed.  He would then work with us to develop  a program.
