Short History

Fr Donald was born and grew up in Sydney. He went to Trinity Grammar School, Summer Hill, where through involvement in music brought him into Church life. While there he learned to play the Pipe Organ and sang in the School Chapel Choir. After leaving School he worked for the Commonwealth Bank and, during that time, was the Parish Organist at the Anglican Church of St John the Baptist, Ashfield, NSW.

A growing sense of calling to priestly ministry within the Anglican Church led to him training for ministry at St John's College, Morpeth, NSW, and Ordination as Deacon and Priest in 1986 at the Cathedral in Newcastle, NSW. He married his wife Camryn the following year. He served in several Parishes in that Diocese over 10 years before moving to the Diocese of Ballarat where he served as Rector of Colac (1996-2000) and Rector of St Peter's Ballarat (2000-2004).

The call came to serve back in NSW and Fr Donald and his family moved to St John's Tamworth where he was Vicar until 2008 when he was Installed as Dean of Grafton Cathedral. He served in that capacity as senior Priest of the Diocese of Grafton for 9 years.

On 24th March 2017 Fr Donald was Inducted as Rector of Hamilton by Bishop +Garry Weatherill in Christ Church Hamilton, and on 10th April 2017 he was Collated Archdeacon of the South West by the Bishop in the Cathedral Church of Christ the King, Ballarat.
